Renova Engineering is a specialised engineering and trading company focused on delivering advanced machinery and integrated solutions for the tobacco and cigarette manufacturing industry. We combine engineering expertise, industrial experience and practical production knowledge to develop systems that improve efficiency, product handling, recovery and overall production performance.

Precision is at the heart of every system we develop. From tobacco feeding and dedusting to reclaiming and separation, our solutions are carefully engineered to protect product quality, reduce material loss and maintain stable production conditions.

Our approach goes beyond supplying individual machines. We develop complete engineering solutions that can be integrated into existing production environments, with every stage considered from initial design and engineering calculations through manufacturing, installation, commissioning and technical support.

Better recovery means better use of every valuable material. By combining intelligent process design with specialised recovery technologies, Renova Engineering helps manufacturers reduce waste, improve yield and create greater value throughout the production process.

With a focus on reliability, efficiency and long-term performance, Renova Engineering works alongside tobacco manufacturers to deliver practical solutions for today’s production challenges and the evolving demands of tomorrow’s industry.

Cut Filler Tobacco Feeding (CFTF)

A cigarette maker is only as reliable as the tobacco flow that feeds it. Renova Engineering designs, manufactures, installs and commissions complete cut filler tobacco feeding (CFTF) installations — from tipping and buffering to pneumatic transfer and integrated dedusting — for makers and feeding machinery of any brand and capacity.

A typical installation begins with a tipper that safely empties fine-cut tobacco from BINs or C48 boxes into a mini silo, from which a feeder doses the tobacco into the transfer line. Operator protection is engineered in throughout, in line with EU machinery-safety requirements.

Every system is developed as a detailed 3D design supported by engineering calculations. We plan the piping route and calculate pipe diameters around the air velocity the product actually needs — high enough to keep the line stable and clean, low enough to protect the tobacco. Where the layout allows, we recommend single-airflow control: it keeps the velocity in the pipe stable and measurably reduces the loss of quality fine-cut.

Key benefits
  • Gentle product handling — stable, controlled air velocity minimises degradation of fine-cut tobacco.
  • Brand-independent — integrates with cigarette makers and feeding machinery of any manufacturer and capacity.
  • Safe by design — tipping and feeding stations engineered to EU machinery-safety requirements.
  • Energy-efficient — correctly sized filters, fans and piping keep power consumption down.
  • Turnkey delivery — one partner from feasibility and 3D design through installation and commissioning.

Maker De-dusting and Tobacco Feeding De-dusting System

Throughout the primary, tobacco is conveyed, blended, cut and dried — and at every transfer point it releases dust. Renova Engineering designs, builds and installs complete dedusting systems for the primary, based on jet pulse filter technology and engineered as one coherent airflow concept rather than a collection of local fixes.

Our scope covers the full installation: dust collection filters, cyclones and airlocks, fans, and gas-tight welded pipework in stainless steel or powder-coated carbon steel. Pipe routes and diameters are calculated around dust load and transport velocity, and filter capacity is sized to the real demand of the line — so the system captures dust reliably without wasting energy.

The result: cleaner air at the workplace, less product lost to the filter, more stable downstream equipment and a production area that is easier to keep hygienic and safe.

Key benefits
  • One engineered airflow concept for the whole primary, not isolated point solutions.
  • Gas-tight welded pipework in stainless or powder-coated carbon steel.
  • Filter and fan capacity sized to actual demand — dependable extraction at lower energy cost.
  • Cleaner workplace air and reduced housekeeping effort.
  • Designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned by one team.

Mobile De-dusting and Tobacco Feeding Unit for Cigarette Makers

Not every dedusting task justifies a fixed installation. Renova’s mobile unit combines tobacco feeding and dedusting in one compact, movable package: a jet pulse filter unit that can be brought to any point of the production floor and connected to a single cigarette maker.

Feeding and dedusting run simultaneously from the same unit, so a maker can operate independently of the central system — during layout changes, maintenance or overhaul of the central filter, trials of a new maker position, or temporary capacity extensions.

Key benefits
  • Tobacco feeding and dedusting in one unit, serving one cigarette maker.
  • Fully mobile — can be operated at any point of the production site.
  • Keeps makers running during central-system maintenance or plant rearrangement.
  • Fast to connect, compact footprint, minimal installation effort.

Central Vacuum Cleaning Systems

However good the dedusting at machine level, fine dust still settles across a production site. A central vacuum cleaning (CVC) system removes it at floor level: one powerful central vacuum unit serves fixed cleaning points throughout the plant, so operators simply connect a hose and clean.

Renova designs CVC systems to run fully automatically and energy-efficiently, with several cleaning points usable at the same time at constant vacuum pressure. Where appropriate, the collected tobacco dust can be recycled rather than discarded. A dedicated variant is available for charcoal filter cigarette production areas, engineered around the specific explosion-safety demands of charcoal dust.

Key benefits
  • Fully automated, energy-efficient central vacuum unit.
  • Several cleaning points in simultaneous use, at constant vacuum pressure.
  • Collected dust can be recycled where appropriate.
  • Special variant for charcoal filter cigarette production areas.
  • A cleaner, safer, more hygienic production site.

Heavy Particle Separator for Lamina

Even well-threshed lamina carries unwanted heavy material: stem fragments, stones, sand and other foreign objects. Left in the flow, they blunt and damage cutter knives, disturb downstream processing and compromise blend purity.

Renova’s heavy particle separator removes this material in-line. Using controlled air classification, the light lamina is carried onward in the airstream while heavier particles drop out and are discharged separately — continuously, and without aggressive mechanical handling that would break up the leaf.

Key benefits
  • Removes stones, stem fragments and foreign objects from the lamina flow.
  • Protects cutting equipment and reduces unplanned maintenance.
  • Gentle, air-based separation preserves lamina structure.
  • Continuous in-line operation, integrated into the primary.

Heavy Particle Separator for Dry Ice Expanded Tobacco (DIET)

Dry ice expanded tobacco (DIET) is light and fragile — that is precisely its value. Separating out heavier material, such as unexpanded or densified particles and foreign objects, therefore demands a system engineered for especially gentle handling.

Renova’s heavy particle separator for DIET uses low-velocity air classification tuned to the low density of expanded tobacco: dense particles leave the flow while the expanded product passes through with minimal degradation — protecting the fill-value gain your expansion process has paid for.

Key benefits
  • Separation tuned to the low density and fragility of expanded tobacco.
  • Preserves fill value by minimising breakage.
  • Removes unexpanded or densified particles and foreign material.
  • Integrates into the DIET handling line.

Tobacco Reclaiming Improvement

A familiar problem in every cigarette factory: a significant amount of good fine-cut tobacco remains trapped in rejected cigarettes and defective packs. Standard reclaim machines recover part of it — but in practice rarely as much as promised, and the remainder is simply lost yield.

Renova’s tobacco reclaiming improvement system adds a second recovery stage after the primary reclaiming process, designed and manufactured to capture the fine-cut that would otherwise leave with the waste — cutting residual yield loss to a minimum. It can be installed alongside high-, mid- and low-speed cigarette makers without affecting the capacity of the existing dedusting system.

Recovered tobacco is returned to production in a controlled way — for example via add-back conveyors that reintroduce reclaimed fine-cut into the maker at predetermined points.

Key benefits
  • Second recovery stage captures fine-cut lost after primary reclaiming.
  • Direct, measurable reduction in yield loss.
  • Installable alongside existing makers and dedusting without capacity loss.
  • Recovered product fed back into production in a controlled way.

Casing & Flavouring Solutions

Casings and flavours arrive at a cigarette factory as raw materials of widely different aromas and viscosities, typically in drums — and adding them to the tobacco exactly as the recipe demands requires dedicated preparation infrastructure.

Renova engineers complete casing and flavouring kitchens: hygienic stainless-steel storage and preparation vessels, agitators, transfer pipework and dosing equipment that deliver each casing and flavour to the process accurately and repeatably.

Each kitchen is designed around the customer’s recipes, throughput and layout, and delivered turnkey — from 3D design and manufacturing to installation and commissioning.

Key benefits
  • Handles casings and flavours of different viscosities and aromas.
  • Recipe-accurate, repeatable dosing.
  • Hygienic stainless-steel construction.
  • Custom-designed around your recipes and layout; delivered turnkey.
